Finding My Park Bench
I need to find a bench
And start my project tomorrow
I’ll go somewhere closer
How about West Vancouver
The drive has been longer that I thought
I guess complain I should not
I’m here at Ambelside Park
Must find a bench before its dark
I have narrowed it down three
Those are the only ones I have left to see
I will pick the one with the best inscription
Then this choosing will be done
I have picked my bench
What a bench it is
From the bench the view is amazing
It makes you feel like gazing
I feel like staying
But time is slowly gaining
I came here for a project
It now seems it was more than that
The sunset will soon arrive
But sadly I don’t have until five
I had a great visit at the park
But the project will be the real fun
The Purpose of Parks
The purpose of a park is to allow people to get away from everyday stress they experience in life by being one with nature. Basically it is just getting away from it all and for some people thinking about life in a more general perspective. Children just go there to play and have fun and forget about everything it varies by age of why people go to parks. I think parks are necessary in society because people need sometimes where the can just relax and forget about the problems in their life or in the world for that matter. It’s where you think of life as a big picture and think of what your priorities are in life. I don’t visit parks very often, but I know at one point of my life I am going to need to when life pushing me down. I know where I am going to go to regroup and get my grip back on life. Parks are important to society as a whole without parks people wouldn’t be able to function in there real lives. Everyone needs somewhere to go get away from the hardships of life. I would call a park in some respects a happy place where people can go when they are facing life troubles. Parks are for everyone and they can hold many different places in people’s hearts. There is nothing to dislike about parks they are meant for people’s enjoyment and they are a fundamental part life for many people.
My Philosophy of Life and How It Relates to My Poem
My philosophy of life is to make the most out of life and experience all the love and happiness I can before it’s all over. In my mind we only have a short time on the planet and it is one and only chance so you might as well make the most of it. My philosophy shares many similarities with carpe diem philosophy and the reason is that I very much agree with that philosophy. The way this poem connects to my philosophy of life is it brings the idea that experiencing love is a very important aspect of life. I totally agree with that idea and as I believe that having love in your life is really one of the aspects in life that will make life livable and get you through the day. The love could be for a partner a family member, a sport, an activity, an animal. The list goes on love is universal in the way it makes life meaningful and is the source of happiness. In my mind if you have love you have a life. Your life is being lived the way it was intended to be enjoyed and savored when you experience love. Much of the reason that Beatles were so successful and made it out of a life you could almost call poverty was because of their love for creating amazing music. There love for what they were doing pushed them to become the amazing artists that they eventually turned into. All Beatles have lived rich and fulfilling lives. The song all you need is love got the message through to me and just their entire emphasis on love in their music proved that they though it was an important aspect of life. All I can say to people having a rough time in their life right know is to experience love and it will get better.
A Poem That Suits My Bench
All You Need is Love
By The Beatles
Love, Love, Love.
Love, Love, Love.
Love, Love, Love.
There's nothing you can do that can't be done.
Nothing you can sing that can't be sung.
Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game.
It's easy.
Nothing you can make that can't be made.
No one you can save that can't be saved.
Nothing you can do but you can learn how to be you in time.
It's easy.
All you need is love.
All you need is love.
All you need is love, love.
Love is all you need.
All you need is love.
All you need is love.
All you need is love, love.
Love is all you need.
Nothing you can know that isn't known.
Nothing you can see that isn't shown.
Nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be.
It's easy.
All you need is love.
All you need is love.
All you need is love, love.
Love is all you need.
All you need is love (All together, now!)
All you need is love. (Everybody!)
All you need is love, love.
Love is all you need (love is all you need)
(love is all you need) (love is all you need)
(love is all you need) Yesterday (love is all you need)
(love is all you need) (love is all you need)
Yee-hai!
Oh yeah!
love is all you need, love is all you need, love is all you need,
love is all you need, oh yeah oh hell yea!
love is all you need love is all you need love is all you need.
I chose the popular song by the Beatles called All you need is love as the poem that suits my bench the most. I chose this song because I think it suggests the importance of having and experiencing love in your life. The way that meaning suits my bench is in the way inscription speaks of the family sharing the love of the sea that these two people had. There love for the sea is mentioned as a very important part of their life lives implying that the great life that two had was made so great due to their passionate love for something that in itself was shared throughout the entire family. Really this saying that all that was needed to experience such meaningful lives was having love for one another and the sea and sharing it with there family. All this family needed to be happy and have great lives was to love each other and share the love they all felt towards something in this case the sea. The Beatles song implies that all you need is love to succeed and have a meaningful life. Life is meaningless without love and it seems that it exists for a reason as what would be whole point of it all if there was no love. This family who dedicated the bench obviously knew the message of the song, all you need is love and benefited from it.

Choosing my Bench
It was Wednesday after school and I needed to find a bench so I could work on the English project in which I had class time to work on the next day. Luckily my mother was able to pick me up that day and we went on our search for a bench. I told her I wanted a bench that was somewhat close to here, but not to close to the school. So we went off to West Vancouver to Ambelside Park to find a bench and we eventually arrived there later then expected though. My mother thought she could get there a different way, but we ended up just wasting a bit of time. I was fine with it though at least we arrived and why should I care if we weren’t there as fast as I expected. We narrowed it down to three benches I looked at all three and only one of the inscription appealed to me and that was the first one I looked at. To me the inscription was perfect as it was touching and was worded in a way most people could understand. It may have been referring to two people’s love of the sea, but there was a universal meaning that could be taken from it. I knew I had found my bench maybe the beautiful sunset was a sign that I had made a good decision. What a great location I had picked to the east was Lions Gate Bridge in all of its glory and not far right of the bench was a totem pole at a point of the beach. In an activity just done for a project it sure was fun and it will be day I won’t soon forget.
If I Dedicated a Bench
If I dedicated a bench it would be dedicated to my Dad and would be located in Winona Park where he spent much of his childhood. He played sports with friends and people he knew around the neighborhood. They would play a variety of activities, but football was the one that he remembered the most. The park holds some of his most treasured moments and memories he has and it seems fitting that a bench should be put in this area. The inscription would read may your children have fun and give them a childhood a great man long ago experienced. The meaning of this inscription is related to enjoying your childhood and allowing your children to experience things that they will treasure when they are older. When parents bring their children to this park I want them to read the inscription bench and sees that this park has been the home of childhood fun and great memories for a long time. So many memories for my Dad follow this park even the golf course he grew up across the street from have some relation as it wasn’t far from the park. This park really represents my dad’s entire childhood which makes me think that there couldn’t be a better place to put a bench. It was in the 60’s at a time that when children were adventurous and would leave there house for hours having the time of their lives and their parents wouldn’t care. This attitude gave many people around this time great childhood’s that they will always remember.
